IC NOTES
DAY 1:
- Warden speaks in a notably harsh and aggressive tone
- calls their surroundings the 'Edge of Reverie prison compound,' explains that they have been quarantined because they have been 'captured by a vile, vicious creature' and are now too dangerous to live among the masses
- arrivals assigned to one of six cellblocks: Phoenix, Kraken, Tsuchigumo, Cerberus, Bugbear and Basilisk. as of yet unknown why we have been split into groups.
- there is a highly electric fence surrounding the compound, and dangerous-seeming shadows beyond that.
- the clocktower stays at 0 most of the time
- the only Echidna is Akira, who the Warden refers to as her assistant
- most people are not able to communicate with the creatures who 'captured' them
- Akira was brought here similarly to everyone else, but earlier than others, and under a deal of some kind. has not been informed of much; does not know anything about the conditions for discharge
- unknown how or why dead people were brought here, or what will happen to them when discharged
- Akira explained the world as a 'collective unconscious': a world created by the subconscious wants of mankind. everything is influenced by thoughts and desires, especially in larger numbers
- the people here are all ourselves, and can't be influenced through thoughts and desires the way the world itself can be
- the 'thoughts and desires' in question include both the people in the prison as well as 'the general public' outside of it
- 'smartphones' can be used to view registry pages listing names and crimes of all inhabitants
- 'suggestion box' in the lobby can be used to acquire items. requested full outfit, including glasses. others were able to acquire weapons, instruments, and magical items
- kitchen is stocked not with limited rations, but with bizarrely extensive amount and variety
- Harlock initially cut open his skin to check whether the physical corruptions meant they were placed in machine bodies. did not seem to be doing so out of a truly self-destructive urge
-- acquired a sword from the suggestion box
-- a pirate who sails for freedom
- Lan Wangji is a 'cultivator of spiritual energy,' possesses powers of some kind, uses a sword and qin, not familiar with smartphones
-- follows a code of conduct that prohibits speaking during meals, drinking liquor
- Wei Wuxian is a necromancer, called and controlled a skeleton from a grave. 'normally they can't move and walk when they're only bone.' should be able to communicate with dead spirits, but the skeleton only played music. can perform charms by drawing with his blood.
-- seems physically unwell
-- wants to eat an inordinate amount of chili in his food
- Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian were both involved in a conflict severe enough to draw blood, possibly with each other. Lan Wangji assured 'unique circumstances, will not be repeated.'
- Horse has traveled between worlds before. this is not something she can do at will; the effect of an artifact of some kind. the second world she ended up in is bizarre
-- has experience with being imprisoned, though unrelated and not comparable to current circumstances
-- eats oats
-- can safely drink alcohol
- Orca, originally introduced himself as the 'God of Death.' 'can spin any narrative with little material needed'; 'orchestrating the lives of others to his own whims.' like Horse, has been imprisoned in the past
-- requested his wife from the suggestion box, instead received a doll in her image. was only married for 'a couple minutes'(!!!) before arrival
-- describes his wife as a resourceful person
- Liontari and Orca are from the same place. people's emotions are eaten by entities called 'nous,' unless they attain a high enough rank to be allowed to keep their emotions. names are also uncommon and only granted to people of high rank.
-- Orca made Liontari his jester ?????
-- Liontari arrived blind despite not being blind previous to arrival
-- for some reason, the nous refused to eat his emotions
-- wants to torment people to experience their reactions because he is used to being surrounded by people without emotion
-- is enamored with a place called Falaina, where instead of emotions, the nous devours people's lifespans
-- doesn't understand concern, but says he can feel other people's emotions
-- 'the empire is just like a black plague, a great big monster devouring everything in its sight.'
