Please ask me questions about Reim or anything else rp-related!!
instead of a question you can also link a thread and I can break down Reim’s thought processes during it like I did here for another character in the past

HE COMPLETELY EXPECTS IT TO HAPPEN LMAO
he has vague hopes it would not reach the point of murder (little does he know we have long sailed past the point of murder) but he has been extremely wary of the fact they were separated into distinct groups literally from arrival. in spite of this he hasn't talked about his apprehensions about it much and has been using cell block designations as an organizational tool for chores/meal organization, I think he's only made like... two or three comments letting on about how many red flags it put up for him? but like, his expectations at the start before bingo happened were "either we're going to be pit against each other or we're going to be more like different departments assigned to different things but us-vs-them faction sentiments are going to crop up and probably be intentionally cultivated anyway."
which is not something he's HAPPY about but also his thinking around it isn't 'how do I avoid or prevent this,' it's 'how do I work around this.' once bingo dropped and gave a clearer idea of how they're going to be competing against each other, he himself actually has had multiple threads with non-teammates where he made a point of doing more of his own tasks than he helped the other person with so that he could make sure Phoenix was at an advantage in that interaction. HE EXPLICITLY ASKED AKIRA IF ECHIDNA ALSO COUNTS TOWARDS THE TWO TEAMS WHO GET TO WIN AND SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED REFUSING TO HELP AKIRA WITH TASKS... BUT THEN HE FELT BAD... BUT HE STILL REALLY ONLY HELPED AKIRA BECAUSE HE DOESN'T THINK AKIRA HAS A CHANCE TO WIN WHEN HE'S ALONE ANYWAY
obviously those are not examples of violent conflict (and in fact he pretty successfully covered up any sign that there was any kind of conflict at all in all of those threads) but while Reim is ultimately well-meaning and kind he is also... a lot more morally slippery of a person than he initially appears. now that Sharon is here his motivation to leave is gone so he's not going to be anywhere near as intense about trying to win, but before she showed up he was definitely bracing himself to do worse things. staying well-liked in the community IS still really important to him so he still would have tried not to pull anything too wild even so, but that's... a self-preservation measure as much as anything since if virtually anyone hated him enough to want him dead he would just get bodied instantly.
so if people did start killing each other his response would really depend a lot on who and why. like if Break killed anyone he'd just be like GODDAMNIT XERXES BREAK. OK SIT DOWN I'LL PLAY DAMAGE CONTROL and he would just assume Break had a good reason without even asking LMAOOO. if someone came after Phoenix or his canonmates he'd be a lot more invested in figuring out why it happened and trying to figure out ways to prevent it in the future. if someone tries to kill HIM he will do his best to perform some kind of high level verbal parkour to get out of it alive (and then probably would have to spend a bunch of time after fielding the reactions of his cr lol). if someone totally unrelated to him kills someone totally unrelated to him... he will want to KNOW about it so he can have the information at his disposal for the future, but he probably wouldn't involve himself. but in all of the above scenarios he's solely concerned with keeping himself and his people safe on a pragmatic level and stuff like grudges or vengeance or justice do not factor into his priorities whatsoever
how has the powercap affected Vicious/has he noticed it yet/how does he feel about it

I FORGET HOW MUCH (IF ANY) I HAVE EXPLAINED CRESTORIA TO YOU, but the main premise is that the world's magic justice system uses the thoughts and desires of the public to brand "transgressors" with a "stain of guilt" that allow them to be mentally bombarded with other people's judgments and tracked by supernatural executioners. Mostly they die pretty quickly. That is, unless Vicious is around to give them a pep talk on owning their sins, stab them with powers and adopt them to his party.
Vicious is also honestly pretty mentally young and simplistic in a lot of ways. As long as he remembers, the whole world has condemned him as the Great Transgressor, and he's always been alone. He had no family or childhood in any kind of society. So while he's very thoughtful on the sort of topics you have to deal with in that situation, like the nature of human society and how to deal with guilt and negative feelings and accept them and commit to moving forward anyway... He's less thoughtful on topics like. reading. family. bathing. most social norms of any kind
ON POWERCAP actually answering the question--
Moon did at least point out to him that healing wasn't working, but mostly Vicious has not noticed anything yet. In reality he could not actually drain life from people here; that ability is reduced to a small debuff. However, Vicious deliberately avoids using his full power basically all the time anyway, both because... he does not actually want to drain the life from people... and because he's incredibly powerful and it's boring to just kill everything immediately. SO HE HASN'T PUSHED IT ENOUGH TO HIT THE CAP. Though he may notice in one of the fight threads he is currently in, I haven't decided!
I don't think the knowledge will affect him that much though. He's a little miffed about the healing cap, if only because fighting's more fun when you can recover from a near-death experience in an hour or so. But overall Vicious is... not strong by choice, I guess? So he's not particularly proud of his power, and would not feel particularly robbed to have lost it. He would definitely not feel like it was hindering his ability to leave, because Vicious just doesn't think that way. It's not about what you CAN do, it's about what you WANT TO do!!
Actually he might find it slightly relaxing to be incapable of killing people just by breathing. He actually spent many years suppressing that power fully because he was terrified of it. I'm not sure he'd trust the system enough to chill out that much though.
Any thoughts (IC or OOC) on team bonding activities! Inter-team or intra-team. Stuff to bring people together more given game activities are not necessarily team based?
no subject
UHH IDK SO I WILL JUST RAMBLE UNTIL I HIT ON SOMETHING REMOTELY USEFUL. it's very easy for me to find ways to bond with the other members of Phoenix because Reim feels automatically somewhat responsible for them so I have not put a lot of thought into ways to facilitate it further. even for people offteam it is just incredibly easy for me to elbow my way in like ARE YOU EATING PROPERLY? ARE YOU CLEANING YOUR ROOM? ARE YOU GTTING SIX TO NINE HOURS OF SLEEP A NIGHT? DO YOU NEED HELP WITH ANYTHING? rip everyone not playing a mom. and icly Reim does not have ideas because he is reserving judgment on how to treat the team divisions at all until he has more information on what the team divisions are really for. this whole bingo setup could have been judged on an individual basis too so what's so fuck then
there IS the 'make an exit' plan that I/he intends to revisit probably sometime soon even though Reim literally doesn't need it anymore. that's not really a bonding activity but also it sort of is
nhie was a lot of fun but I do kinda hope other stuff in the future similar to it is less hinged on alcohol. we have had like three drinking/bar themed posts, which aren't a bad thing in and of themselves but there ARE also a bunch of characters who don't drink who I want to get the chance to thread with in hangout stuff too
I feel conflicted on big group activities in rp in general though because on one hand I like... the idea of them. a lot of my characters, including Reim, are conscious of how they behave depending on who's around, so 3+ people to an interaction changes dynamics and I find that fun and interesting! but also way more complicated to coordinate threads for sob. so I'd ultimately rather have more stuff similar to social bingo that facilitates a lot of 1-1 interaction just cuz it's so much easier... but then thinking abt that kind of thing I end up at like, 'oh, Reim needs to find someone to cut his hair at some point since he keeps it so short' but that's literally only useful for bonding with Reim and one other character, not something that can scale up so other people can get something out of it too.
I say that I'd rather have more social bingo-like stuff but I do hope games/assignments play around with different mechanics and don't just stick with the list of tasks/rack up points type mingle game format. I've had enough fun already that clearly I wouldn't MIND if they are all like this but I think mixing it up would be fun, and also could potentially strengthen/solidify team stuff too. I don't have an idea for what at the moment though since as a gamerunner I have a lot more ideas for shorter games instead of longer ones. I wonder if there's a way to do a month-long hostage game scenario of some kind actually. maybe if the hostages have ankle trackers or bomb collars or something so there's no restriction on who they can thread with or where they can be cuz otherwise playing the hostage would suck. but if there's a way to put down stakes/win conditions that can be sustained across a month I think that would be awesome and a good way to establish a bit of attachment/identity in teams.
I know Al is not opening gamerunning until a long while out yet but clearly that just means I have time to hammer out details--bonding activities: find people willing to give cooking lessons? find people willing to give first aid lessons? these don't really relate to the team structure at all though
what are Vicious's top 3 and bottom 3 favorite and least favorite things that have happened or he has done so far in reverie
no subject
1) Fight with Akira
2) Fight with Moon
3) Sex with Roy
He's a simple man.
Least favorite:
1) Bouncing off the electric fence
2) Spending a day drinking and not really having fun with it because it feels like A TOOL TO KEEP HIM COMPLACENT, how dare they ruin his favorite recreational activity
3) uhhh let's say Diluc trying to have a Bugbear team meeting. for a combination of a) disdain for the idea of a team meeting, b) Diluc left a note and Vicious had to gloss over the fact that he can't read, which he never enjoys, and c) Diluc told him about the place being made of ~thoughts and desires~ and lol
SAME QUESTION FOR REIM

1. ~*~*~BREAK AND SHARON FINALLY KISSED~*~*~
2. getting the clinic was pretty gratifying tbh (and also let him attend to his fucked up toe)
3. probably the nhie stupidity with Break... nostalgic...
least favorites:
1. he's trying to get used to it but Break's head being detached honestly still wigs him out
2. Liontari talking about how his favorite thing is to torture and torment people and make them suffer and scream etc
3. getting kidnapped by Ardyn to an UNBELIEVABLY GRODY BLOODY BATHROOM
I did my best to rank least favorites but tbh Reim has a really low threshold for things that bother him a little but a really high threshold for things that like. stick to him and keep bothering him. so besides Break's head thing I had a bunch of things and was really ??? about which to include and how to rank them against each other
you'd think breaking his toe would rank but in a way that was kind of a nice moment besides the horrible pain and Orca being incredibly unreassuring company.
how would Vicious feel about/react to different canonmates appearing SINCE I SEE YOU ARE GETTING A MISELLA. if there are any he would have different feelings on seeing here
no subject
- Kanata is Vicious's ~reason~ and the person he is most desperate to see. If he were here Vicious would both chill out a lot about getting out and be more confident in actually getting out, because Kanata is motivated and Vicious can just throw his power behind him. You can't achieve your dream of changing the world in here, Kanata!!
- Misella is second only to Kanata, and she is also going to be desperate to get back to Kanata, so he'll be relieved to have her here for motivation reasons too. She's also his favorite party member for being fairly ruthless and amoral. Sometimes you appreciate having a girl who will just stab you or set you on fire, okay
- Aegis is the one Vicious would be most "that's rough, buddy" about being here, because Aegis was a knight and even as a condemned criminal is trying to keep to a personal moral code of knighthood. Vicious would be half sympathetic about him now being in prison and half think it was funny. Also he'd get to tell him that Estinien said if you use a lance you're a dragoon, not a knight, and that would also be funny. But he'd trust Aegis to be an organizer in a way he doesn't really trust anyone here currently.
- Yuna is perhaps the person he'd be least surprised to see here, and the most... low-key in his appreciation about having her around? But she's an information broker and Vicious is abysmal at information gathering himself and he also doesn't quite trust anyone here with that, so he'd appreciate that. And in general he'd still be really happy, they just have the more understated sort of companionship of a couple of sketchy people who have been working together for a while.
- Orwin is his newest party member and at Vicious's canon point he only just joined the party, so he doesn't know him that well yet. But he'd still be happy to have a familiar face and for the chance to prod at him a bit more to see what drives him.
I ALSO THINK PEOPLE SHOULD APP ME ANTAGONISTS specifically Kasque, who is a goddess, and her twin apostles, who are deeply crazy. Vicious would be significantly less happy to see them and in fact would probably try his best to kill them on sight, repeatedly. But I would enjoy that. Though I think we'd probably want the next chunk of story to come out first.
I actually know remarkably little about Pandora Hearts, tell me about your threesome

Sharon and Reim actually don't have that many interactions in the series itself (so large swaths of the fandom were actively mad when they got married at the end lmao) because they are MOSTLY JUST BOTH HINGED AROUND BREAK'S ARC. Reim is introduced as Break's only friend,,, and Sharon is overtly in love with him. Neither of them are really combatants while Break is The Strongest Fucker In The Cast so he's extremely protective of both of them (he goes on little murder benders when Reim fakes his death/Sharon gets hurt it's very endearing), which funnily enough Reim is pretty fine with accepting that as part of the balance of the dynamic between the two of them, but conversely that attitude runs up against what Sharon wants, which is to be more capable and able to stand as Break's equal. Break essentially spends the whole series gradually physically degrading to his death and so their collective arc is really about browbeating him into accepting their help and support before he finally eats it. He dies in both their arms telling them he doesn't want to die. it's extremely cute and devastating.
also while neither of them are combatants they both smack him around when he's dumb even though no one else can hit him, because he drops his guard around them specifically, which is ALSO extremely cute
The three of them met when Sharon was 8/Reim was 11 and have known each other for fifteen years since so they have like. really the highest level of comfortable familiarity with each other in the cast which I've been having a lot of fun playing in reverie tbh. they are all INCREDIBLY familiar with each other's personalities. when Reim finds out Break has been keeping something really significant from him in the series he's like, noticeably more twigged about the fact that he DIDN'T KNOW and Break has been LYING TO HIM than about the fact that Break is A SERIAL KILLER
but also Reim has been in love with Sharon that entire time, except she already rejected him when they were kids because she liked Break. WHICH HE WAS UPSET ABOUT AT FIRST BUT THEN AT SOME POINT HE SWERVED TO JUST. SUPPORTING SHARON IN WHAT SHE WANTS. (he is right Sharon should always get what she wants. at one point she drops the line 'GREED IS IN MY BLOOD' and frankly that's the most metal shit ever.) Sharon is a daydreamy romantic sort who really likes trashy romance novels and relationship drama (although her novel tastes are explicitly femdom because mochijun knows what she likes and it's sadist girls and loser masochist boys) so it makes sense she would be way more interested in Mysterious Traumatized Man With No Past than Reim who even at that age was already so aggressively boring and responsible lmao. he is subtle enough in pushing them together that neither of them ever particularly notice but he consistently pushes Break on how to treat Sharon in the series proper and then omakes and side materials have stuff like "Reim tells Break to cheer Sharon up by hugging her" or "Reim tricks Break into matching outfits with Sharon". Break technically tries to deflect Sharon's feelings throughout the series (since 1. she looks 13 and he's almost 40 2. he was probably romantically involved with her mom before her mom died) and be like 'no no she's like a daughter/little sister to me' but tbh he keeps touching her hair and calling her princess even without Reim's help so who does he think he's fooling
Reim is a huge nag with Break and Break is a menace at him (Reim is Break's superior in Pandora and has to come after him to get him to do his work all the time but then ends up doing half his reports for him anyway; Break does shit like steal Reim's sweets or tickle him while he's carrying a pile of like ten books to make him drop them) and Reim takes Sharon's side over his 100% of the time, but Reim is also more comfortable with Break than anyone else. like sometimes they just hang out and eat sweets together off hours but also Reim is willing to act like way more of a dumb boy with Break. when he figures out Break has started losing his vision he immediately throws something at him and then checks by doing this. at one point Reim enters a scene by listening at a door to try and see when Break is going to come through it and then tries to slam it open in his face. WHO ELSE WOULD REIM EVER DO THAT TO. NO ONE. so while he's Break's only friend Break is also mutually like... a singular existence in Reim's life. he has a lot of faith in him and even when he hears stuff like 'Break is in a bad situation and might die' he's just like 'he'll be fine it's Break he'll figure something out.' and it's because Break once praised him for being unsuited to violence that Reim was able to accept that about himself and focus on the things he could do instead. (originally he is pretty reasonable about this and is willing to stay sidelined on paperwork duty but by the end he's really like [thinking emoji] actually nothing is stopping me from running into danger to rescue Sharon by talking at the enemy.)
after Break dies Reim and Sharon are still in the middle of ?POSSIBLY FIGHTING THE ENEMY? but now with Break's corpse, and Reim keeps it together to manage the situation and by that I mean when Lily wants to destroy Break's corpse because he killed a bunch of other Baskervilles Reim gives her his gun and tells her it's actually Reim's fault so she should shoot him instead if it will make her feel better. which was also partly because he did not think Lily would kill him but she did in fact shoot him. I think he also partly felt it was really important for SHARON that they manage to take Break's corpse home but it is very funny to think that this probably means Reim lists his physical wellbeing below Break's corpse's physical wellbeing on both his own and his assumption of Sharon's lists of priorities
he also carried Break's corpse home.
anyway also after Break dies this omake chapter occurs which fandom was ALSO mad about but personally saved my life. thanks mochijun I love playing yandere adjacent fucks
in reverie Reim and Sharon are from a timepoint when Break has been dead for 5 years and they've been married for one, so they'd have been like. starting to settle into their new life a bit. Sharon started physically aging again at the end of the series so Reim just looked like he was marrying a 17 year old and not a 13 year old. this means they do have a closer and more familiar relationship in reverie than in canon tho since in canon Reim definitely was like, conscientious of her standing being higher than his, but now they are married. they are also definitely in kind of a d/s relationship in bed which Break will probably find out. soonish. because I love to make everyone's lives hard I have been playing Reim as not necessarily in love with Break or at least just very confused about his feelings towards him at this point so that leg of the triangle is kind of convoluted at the moment, especially since Break Being Alive is in and of itself kind of like ripping an old wound open (even if mostly in a good way). actually the Break-Sharon leg is also kind of convoluted since she just asked him to marry her and he was basically like [WHEEZES] but all in all everyone is having a good time. Reim and Sharon agreed pretty much instantly that they're both ok with staying in prison to spend more time with Break for a while and the conversations they've had about that were really cute and affirming. very on the same wavelength. they had one of them basically on top of Break while he was like EXCUSE ME YOU WHAT?
do YOU have any hopes/ideas for events or types of games you might hope to see in reverie?
